Team CoolDrive New Livery Revealed
16 Feb, 2018
On the first official Supercars test day of 2018, Tim Blanchard has revealed his 2018 Team CoolDrive ZB Commodore.
The CoolDrive reveal video, filmed at the local Albury CoolDrive shows a new take on the 2017 livery.
Describing his new livery, Tim said, “I remember walking into the BJR workshop in August last year and seeing Nick Percat's Commodore in this brilliant metallic blue colour. I said there and then, I need that on my Team CoolDrive Supercar.”
“Plenty of people were messaging and asking the team what the colour was, so if you need it on your car as well, ask for PPG’s Borocay Blue.”
“The livery is very similar to last year, simply because it worked so well. The shine from this PPG paint is what will make it stand out, so it will undoubtedly be different from the rest.”
“We’ve also updated the name from CoolDrive to CoolDrive Auto Parts, because people tend to associate us with only automotive air conditioning; however we do so much more than just that.”
“People don’t realise we have a wide range of products specializing in not only automotive air conditioning but electrical accessories, rotating electrical, engine cooling, engine management, filtration and underbody products. In 2018 CoolDrive will also be adding brake and clutch to our product offering.”
Tim is debuting the new ZB Commodore shape for 2018. His chassis BJR 010 is 4 rounds young, and after the team's evaluation day in December, the team worked fast to completely strip the car back to the bare chassis and the transformation to the new shape began in January.
Tim added “I’m excited to get behind the wheel and see how different the ZB Commodore package is. We’ve also got a new engine supplier for 2018 with KRE Race Engines looking after the team. We’ve got a lot to look forward to this year and as a team we are eager to move forward after a tricky 2017 season.”
Stable-mates Tim Slade and Nick Percat completed the shake-down of their new chassis' this week and all Supercar drivers will take part in the test day at Sydney Motorsport Park today. The first round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will get underway on the 2nd of March.
